On 24 February 2026, Jiang Dongze has successfully defended his PhD thesis at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences. His research focused on antibiotic resistance, virulence and phylogenetic characteristics of opportunistic pathogenic microorganisms in the environment.

His doctoral research was also supported by the BioTreatED project.
